COLICO Colico, important tourist resort, is the last village that you meet on the east side of the lake. Behind its shoulders rise the Legnone, the taller mountain of the Lake. The zone, inhabited since the pre-roman period, for a long time is a strategic point of transit and connection with Valtellina, Valchuavenna and Spluga, Julier and Maloja Pass. PIONA Little corn of green situated on the promontory of Olgiasca. His famous Abbay of the XI century is become an obligatory destination for every itinerary on the lake. GERA LARIO Gera Lario, little town situated to the extremity of the lake, is located to the results of stream Mera and on the feet of Montemezzo. Gera Lario, once fisherman suburb, founds today its economy on the craftsmanship and on the tourism, that in the last years is groqing up. SORICO The last village of the Northern lake that qe met crossing the "Regina" road is Sorico, whose town territory extends up to include the stream Mera and the Pian di Spagna. In Sorico stop the road that coasts along the lake and crossin Ponte del Passo, you arrive in an intersection where start the roads to Valchiavenna, Valtellina, Switzerland and to Lecco. VARENNA Varenna, an important place of summer vacation, is located on the easter bank of the lake on a promontory to the mouth of river Esino, in beautiful panoramic position on the whole lake.
